Why choose a portable AC in Mouraria?
Old social housing, multi-family houses, some buildings renovated in the last 10 years but keeping their original structure. Small windows, limited cross-ventilation.
Indoor night-time temperature in July–August: 28–30 °C. Flats on Beco do Rosendo or Calçadinha do Tijolo are particularly hot.
Legal restrictions in Mouraria
Mouraria falls under the same protection regime as Alfama: exterior splits are forbidden on façades, with significant fines. And in the neighbourhood's small, old buildings there's often no suitable exterior wall anyway. A portable is the only legal option — and the only practical one.
How we deliver
The van can't enter Mouraria's alleys and travessas: we stop at Martim Moniz or Largo do Intendente and walk the AC in over the calçada — it's the route we do more than any other in the historic centre. Picking up at the meeting point (Praça Martim Moniz or Largo do Intendente) is free. Door delivery carries a fee based on effort: €15 with a lift or up to the 2nd floor; €25 for a walk-up from the 3rd floor (up to ~€35 from the 5th). Tell us your alley and floor on WhatsApp — we'll confirm the exact amount first.
