Why so many Lisbon rentals have no AC
The short answer: most of central Lisbon is a protected historic area where installing fixed AC units on façades is restricted — so many charming old apartments in Alfama, Bairro Alto, Baixa or Graça simply don't have air conditioning. Those thick-walled buildings hold the day's heat: during a heatwave, bedrooms can stay at 28–30°C well past midnight. A portable AC needs no installation at all — the exhaust hose vents through a window with a sealing kit we bring along — which is why it's the practical fix for exactly these apartments.
How it works during your stay

- We deliver to your rental and set it up for free in about 5 minutes. It plugs into a normal socket; you get the remote. No tools, no drilling, nothing your host needs to worry about.
- Checking out? We pick the unit up and refund your €100 deposit. If you leave early, you only pay for the days you used.

Delivery and pickup are included in Lisbon city; outer Greater Lisbon areas may carry a small surcharge (10–20 euros), always confirmed before you book. The €100 deposit is refundable at pickup and can be paid by card-friendly options like MB WAY, bank transfer or cash.
Do I need to ask my host?
Usually a quick message is all it takes — and hosts almost always say yes, because nothing is installed or drilled: the unit stands on the floor and the hose rests in a window opening with a soft sealing kit. Many hosts end up thanking their guests for finding us. If your host wants to arrange it (and get an invoice), we speak Portuguese and English — just connect us on WhatsApp.

During heat alerts our units go fast. If the forecast shows 35°C+ for your travel dates, message us a day ahead and we'll reserve a unit for your arrival — you land, it's already cool.

Can you deliver today?
Usually yes, in Lisbon and Greater Lisbon, subject to availability. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm a delivery window right away.
I don't speak Portuguese — is that a problem?
Not at all. We handle everything in English on WhatsApp, from booking to pickup.
What if my Airbnb has unusual windows?
The included window kit fits the common Lisbon window types (sliding, casement and tilting). We set it up at delivery, so if something is unusual we solve it on the spot.
How does the deposit work?
You pay a refundable €100 deposit at delivery (MB WAY, bank transfer or cash). It's returned in full at pickup when the unit and accessories come back complete and undamaged.
What if I check out before the rental ends?
Tell us your new checkout date on WhatsApp — we'll pick the unit up earlier and you only pay for the days you actually used.
Is it noisy at night?
It makes the normal sound of a portable AC (up to 65 dB at full power). Most guests run it on the lowest setting at night, or cool the bedroom before sleeping and switch it off.
